I think I can help, bonnie.

I know a thing or two about the worldwide people...heck, I am one! Very Happy

Socks! Lots of people use them, right?...but they often go missing or wear out. You could sell personalized socks...the worldwide people can order socks with their own name already embroidered into them. Fewer socks would go missing that way and you would become rich and a hero....er....heroine.

Pretty much everything that is made in China and Chinese-style goods are currently available on ebay. Just looked at socks. There were 47,418 listings for socks although personalized socks only had 10 listings so not too competitive at this time.

Sell the products you know well. Since selling on Ebay cannot bring too much orders, you must make sure that your supplier(the factory) are willing to deal with you.

Just do it! Hope you are successful.

i'll be willing to try out all your products for a fee of only 200 RMB per item. If they pass my test I shall license you to apply my Mr Bean seal of approval to the merchandise. How you say?

The "Socks" idea is not bad, with one minor change. Not SockS but sell them as 1 Sock.

It's only ever 1 sock that goes missing from the pair or gets the hole worn in it, therefore, sell replacements.

Or maybe, someone should set up a website where you can post photos of your remaining sock. Others could then logon and view the lost and found socks. They may have sighted your missing sock somewhere, or they themselves, may have lost an identical one, hence, could be in the market to purchase your remaining sock.

This is brilliant. I'm going to register www.helpmefindmymissingsock.com

Just team up with that Chinese lady who supplies about half the world's socks (well I may be exagerating slightly). I can't remember her name but saw her on a doco.

Just Baidu Rich + Chinese + Lady + Sock + Maker.

Good luck and let us know when you go online.

Adrienne

how about selling a brand new invention or an idea. Like spectacles with lenses in them to help people see more clearly....what do you think? It could be the next ipod. Keep it a secret for the time being though.

Sell spit. There's loads of it and you can collect for free. You could bottle it in little quaintly painted bottles and 'provincialise' it by giving it special names like Beijing Gold, Hunan Black, Oil of Guangdong, or Sweet Shanghai. Customers could display them around their house.

Socks - excellent, Lifemage and Mat. However, your logic is flawed - you've both assumed that odd socks are the result of one being lost. This is not the case at all. I've done thorough research on this matter and it is obvious that odd socks are there not because one is lost, but one is in fact gained.
