| Post subject: Best places to meet people |
I am a man traveling from the U.S. I will be in Shanghai for business later the week of 20 June after completing busines in Beijing earlier in the week. I get to BJ often but this is my first trip to Shanghai. What are the good places to go to meet females - ex-pats and locals - without getting the drink/tip girl or hooker shake down treatment? Thank you ahead of time for your replies... |

So you want to meet "females" during your business trip, but nobody with a price tag. I wonder what you think of doing with your new friends. Sorry, can't give you advise on this one because all places I might advise you on you will always run the risc of meeting males as well. |

There are a good number of bars that will have "regular" women around... have a look at some of the threads (you may have to go back a few pages) in the Nghtlife forum. If you want to avoid some of the notorious areas that have women with a price, then you may be well advised to stay clear of the Maoming Road area and Julu Road area.
It may help if you tell us what kind of bars you enjoy... dancing, jazz, live bands, quiet music, etc. |
