Post subject: Being self employed in Shanghai

I am due to move to Shanghai in October, I will be working for a UK registered company on a consultancy basis for a 12 month contract and I had planned to have my salaries and package paid to my Ltd company which I would then draw from.

Does anyone have any experience of this or any info on what my tax position would be as far as the chinese tax services would be concerned?.

Thanks in advance for any good advice

I suppose Dadougler was thinking about open an offshore company "A".
Then A get paid by the british company for its services.
Dadougler is an employee of A and get his salary from A.

I am right Dadougler?

But is A allowed to operate in China?

Whatever the setup, his tax situation will be the same. Unless he cheats, which is easy to do if all companies are overseas, but there are risks of course. All as DSU said (these guys always have good advice).

Hi there, I am coming from the UK, I will effectively be operating as a UK sole trader. I am not too keen to be doing anything that is not legal. I would just like to make sure I have the best advice as to how to keep me as tax efficient as possible.

Reacher, would you be so kind as to give me the details for FESCO??
