| Post subject: 12 Month Visa, Enter Before 3/16/06 + 90 Day Stay, Problems? |
I have a 12 month multiple entry F visa with a 90 day limit on stays.
I am currently in China but will be moving back to the US by May or so. My visa was issued on March 16, 2005 and has an "Enter Before" date of March 16, 2006.
My question is: If I go to Hong Kong for a day in early March (say), and then re-enter China, can I legally stay in China for up to 90 days after that, without getting a new visa?
Thanks,
Joe |

AFAIK, your 90 days starts when you enter China. So if you enter by March 15, 2006 you are still a legal alien. I am not an authority on this matter but i had the same question before. You may search here, there are lots of threads regarding this topic. Happy New Year |

Yes BigJoe, you can fly to HK for a day or two and then re-enter China BEFORE March 16, 2006 with the same F visa. Then you can leagally stay in China for another 90days from the re-enter date. |

VisaLady --> How long would we need to stay in Hongkong if all we need is the stamp that we left china. Would I be able to step off the plane and then take the next flight back to shanghai in the same day?
Thanks |

Not to state the obvious, but why don't you get a better visa? |

I have a 6 month multi entry tourist visa. 90 days at a time. this is good because it matches my 6 months return ticket back to Canada. Once in Canada, I can get another 6 months multi-entry tourist visa if needed so all should be fine:) |
