My company is starting a branch office in Shanghai in the next couple of months (probably Late December early January), and wants me to move to Shanghai to help run the office. The office is going to be located in either the Jangan or Xuhui Districts I believe, and after reading numerous posts from people in the forum, it seems as if the consensus is to live close to work because of traffic. I've searched the forums and haven't found a lot of information on either Jangan or Xuhui (although the forum has been invaluable as far as life in Shanghai in general), and was hoping that some of you could enlighten me about these two districts. Is there a nightlife in either of these districts (bars, clubs, etc.). What are the demographics of the populations there? I'm a 27 year old single straight male who knows next to nothing about Shanghai (I've been to Beijing briefly) and any information on these two areas would be beneficial.
