| Post subject: Why can't clubs check for ID's?????? |
PLEASE DO!!!
In december I started to see 12,13 years old boys and girls in bonbon getting drunk!
In O2 I also saw young teenagers with pink earmuffs.
I don't get it how they can check for your ID in internet bars but not in clubs, it's sick.
It's just wrong. |

places that cater to massively underage drinking are eventually unable to compete because the majority of young drinkers can't hold their liquor; thereby reducing the number of drinks ordered. |

so i guess we need more underaged drinkers who could hold their liquor. I don't know about you, but i'm doing my part by teaching my 3 years old nephew how to take shots. |

no, it means that such places are rarely able to survive; thereby reducing the problem.
additionally, it isn't the barkeeps role to patrol patrons unless legally mandated. |

the younger underage crowds here are getting too spoiled.. my friend blogged about underage drinking and got flamed by at least 20 replies by high school students claiming that "kids have the right to get wasted and do whatever they want at clubs"! |

Those I saw were foreign kids in bonbon, and I bet that they were not older than 15!!!
besides, I spoke to a girl in there and it turned out that she was a sophomore in high school which means she is 15. My opinion is that a 15 years old girl shouldnt get so drunk in bonbon that she doesn't know what she's doing.
Also, it's just morally wrong that young teenagers hang out at places like Bonbon or Windows til' the early morning and let lots of sleazy men trying to hit on them.
and in addition to that, it wouldn't be fun if all these youngsters took over the place, so bonbon or some other cool club would turn into a school disco. |

we saw a bunch of preppy foreign kids fighting outside of attica at 5 in the morning last week. One kid, who was either retreating or might even be just watching from the side, got hit in the head by some dude. The kid fell flat and before he could get up, some other guy ran over and kicked him in the head.
I agree with sienna that the maturity level at these things, especially regarding the laowai, needs to be higher. |

Back home, it's hard to get served underage (read: not impossible) in bars. A bar or club, if caught with underage drinkers are either heavily fined or just shut down. But here, with no restrictions like that, these HS'ers must see that as a dream come true, and flock to these places. Cheap drinks & cheap open-bars makes it easier. |

Nobody will do anything until an underage drinker is killed in some kind of alcohol-related accident. |

One reason you will find that bars don't check ID is that even if someone is underage there is not a whole lot you can do about it!! The police would be less than interested, and unless someone is causing trouble you can't stop them going in anyway!! Welcome to the wonders of china!! |

She doesnt know what she is doing? Haha, funny, you seem to know so much about her.
It is morally wrong? You are kidding right? Besides, to pretend there is an absolute, universal set of morals is ludicrous. You views are entirely subjective and to believe that people under 18 shouldnt drink just because you think, emphasis on the think, that it is wrong is completely arrogant.
I'm a 15 year old male guy and I do go clubbing, quite often to Bon Bon and Windows and I've yet to see a young foreign girl get abused or forced to do something she didnt want to. And old sleazy men hit on anyone, hell Ive even been hit on by them, it didnt scar me for life.
Yes, yes, youngsters "take over", god are you serious with this crap? Honestly, "older" people seem to think they have this maturity superiority, it's rather pathetic really. |

gendo, in my days, young whipper snappers like you respected your elders. Say, i remember if i ever talked that way, grover cleveland would come, take me by the jimmies, and spanked me till the spanish american war ended. Now in those days, we called the mexicans spanish, and burritos, bean cannons...
i feel old |

I don't respect people because of their age, people have to earn respect. If I see bullfeces, regardless of their ages, I call people on it. It was funny what you said nonetheless. |
