Post subject: Luggage Weight Problem in Stay Over in Shanghai?

Thinking of staying over in Shanghai for two days from Los Angeles before going to Wuhan but worried that my luggage will be over weight (23 kg international/ 10 kg domestic) for the domestic portion of the flight if I do not directly catch another flight to Wuhan. I've taken this route before and each time the flight from Shanghai to Wuhan wanted to see my international ticket (so that they will allow my luggage to be over weight). Anyone had this problem before?

As far as i recall, domestic flights allowance is same as international? so you should be allowed at least 20 kg for your shanghai wuhan flight, i have been travelling all over china for 16 years now and have never heard of a 10 kg allowance on check in luggage on domestic flights?

Luggage handling capacity is airline dependant. Almost all airlines set 20kg as the limit for international flights (Air Asia sets it at 15kg).
However, having flown Shanghai air and China Eastern (Air China), i can say that in China the weight limit is 20kg for domestic flights as well. Please check your ticket, will be mentioned on it. Which airline is this?

I guess I might be wrong. Coming in on China Eastern and have not booked the connecting flight yet.
