Post subject: How much do locals pay for those pedicab/motorbike rides?

Always like to take one or two while in town for a giggle and/or an adrenaline rush, but can never get them below 4 or 5rmb, even for just a few blocks.

I'll donate all the small change in my desk drawer for your ride. If you're not too big I have enough.

I only take them when I'm going 10+ blocks, and it's never less than 7. I love it, so I rarely have to stomache to bargain if they say 10. Also depends on if it's commuter hour.

Last week, I was at YuYuan, which was a zoo. A guy offered to take me to the Huangpi metro station for 10rmb - I was hopping on and a Chinese person told me I was paying too much. Should have been about 5rmb. It was snowing and crowded. I was just happy to be getting home in less time than a cab would have taken.
