| Post subject: Imported bicycle registration |
What is the procedure for registering an imported electric bicycle to get the bike a ‘license’?
What documents are needed? (Original bill of sale, what if it is used, but you have a B.O.S. from the previous owner?)
What if you are an ex-pat here and had it shipped in with your personal belongings, does it still need to be registered or licensed?
Can a local register an imported bike as well, if they bring it in themselves and it is not bought from a local store but rather hand-carried in through customs? |

It's quite a hassle. If you import the bike without receipt, you can use the customs receipt if you have one (= you paid import taxes, normally only if you import more than 3 bikes).
Before registration, your bike/e-bike has be checked to be admitted. I'm currently finding out how to do (need to import 10 bikes) and can PM you if i know. With the admission licence, you can apply for the famous number plate and pay the bike tax. |
