| Post subject: HK, L-Visa update |
Sharing my recent experience getting an L-Visa in HK....
First, in these panic times where getting visas is very difficult and complicated, it's important to know that everyone's case is different... In the past month I've talked to at least 20 people with visa issues, and each of them has found a different solution, and a different price. So don't think you can just go "how to, and how much?" It's a different case for each person, and the rules are changing almost daily.
Probably the easiest way, if you don't have a company sponsor, is to get a tourst L visa in Hong Kong. Although since the recent shake-up, there are many places that used to provide visa solutions, that are closed now, there are some that can fix you. Many of them seem to have the same generic name, like "China Visa Office" but are actually part of a travel agent group.
Here's the one I used recently...
China Visa General Office
New East Ocean Center
9 Science Museum Road
Room 705-A, 7th Floor
T.S.T East Kowloon (Hong Kong)
near Hung Hom/ TST East stations
I'm american, I got a 90 day visa that has 30 day stay limits, and only 2 entries allowed. Be careful filling out your application, if you're careless it could be rejected, even though it's just a tourist visa. |
