| Post subject: Need relocating company going to the US |
hi all,
i'm moving back to the states in two weeks, and need a company that can move my stuff for me. i'll have it all packed up, i just need them to pick it up, process paperwork and get it going. i realize its really short notice, but, fortunately, there's not much stuff. really, its about 10-15 boxes of vinyl records and a few electronic items.
if someone can refer an efficient, reliable, and reasonably priced mover, i'd appreciate it a lot.
santa fe? are they the only ones?
thanks.

how much did it run you usually? for how much stuff? you could reasonably put all my stuff on two palettes. i actually fedex'd them all this way (when the company was paying for it) for about $1500 (via air). i'm moving them back via ocean (my dime now...) and would expect to pay about $600-$800 USD. |

For such few things (the quantity of boxes you listed), why not just use DHL ? |

I moved a bunch of stuff...so would not be relevant.
Call them...they can give you anestimate.
But I think CIA might be right about DHL |

good point. i don't know why i didn't think of using DHL ocean shipping. my company's normal LCL shipper doesn't ship personal effects, so i just immediately thought of a relocation service and forgot about DHL. i'll ask my import/export girl, we can probably get a decent rate via DHL.
thanks CIA!! glad you survived that riot in suzhou. |

thank you shane. i get air rates from dhl through my company at the same rate as your 30-40 day rate. 36/kg.
for a similar shipment, 3 cubic meters, crown wanted about 18000rmb. dhl is doing air for about 12000.
i'm going with dhl. thanks CIA!! |
