| Post subject: Help needed with work visa |
I'm being hired by a software company in shanghai. They are asking me to join them by using a tourist visa and then they would continue the procedure to convert my tourist visa to a working visa. I want to ask is it possible to go to China on a tourist visa, but then during stay in China get it converted to a working visa?
Please help. |

I am suprised the China consulate in Chicago's webpage has not been updated since 2005, there's been a lot of changes in the last year.....I'd call them or a reputable visa agency before making any firm decisions. |

^ Few, if any, government websites have accurate information. That's the norm. |
