To my surprise all seeds sprouted and now I have too many tomato plants for my balcony.
I don't want to throw them away, so anyone interested in 4-5 tomato plants? They are around 3-4 cm right now. According to the package they should bear middle sized tomatos. (Something like 70g)
pm me if you are interested |

I want to have one if it's not so trouble for you.
Thanks

Medea, did you buy the seeds in Shanghai or where?
I've looked for some, but haven't found any here yet. Not necessarily tomato seeds, but flowers, herbs in general. |

Hi Victor,
no, all the seeds were smuggled into China.
Last year I bought seeds for bitter melon at the Gubei Carrefour. It was a box with pot, potting earth etc. called 太太果园 - I think they had some flower seeds too. However the quality of the seeds sucks - they don't want to sproud
What kind of herbs are you looking for?
I bought rosemary, mint and thyme this weekend at the flower market at the Red Town Gallery / Shanghai Sculpture Space. They had lavender there too.
If you need basil - I could part with some seeds. |

I have some radish seeds if you'd like, also smuggled. They are two years old now but real radishes, should sprout still. No time or place for vegetable gardening |

@Medea
No specific sorts. The Mrs are very fond of flowers and we talked about one day it could be fun to grow some different things by ourselves.
But as said, we haven't found any place to buy the seeds.
We will smuggle some next time we go back to DK. Like the rest of you,
Thanks for the offer, it was nice of you. But keep them yourself, as said, I can bring my own next time |

I planted 10 seedlings of Cherry Tomatoes. The result has been over 300+ Cherry tomatoes despite 3 "harvests" already.
These buggers keep on growing!

PM me if you want specifics. |
Mmh, but where?!
I'm looking for bitter melon seeds and the seeds for these hulu pumkins. Acutally one should find the seeds everywhere. |

Hi Medea
Do you still have spare tomato plants? I have seeds for basil, thyme, parsley, rocket etc. if you are interested.
Does anyone know where I can find camomile seeds or plants? I have not seen them in the flower markets. They told me at the Herb Store on Julu lu that they normally have them but are out of stock. |

Easy to get seeds but maybe not the ones you want ... radishes in China are different, carrots, some others.
I wonder if you could grow artichokes up by Weihai ? Climate seems suitable. I'd kill for an artichoke once in a while. |

Thanks for your radish seeds but I fear I don't have the space to grow radish. I'm not even sure whether you can grow them in pots?
Artichokes are beautiful plants. I had 2 plants in my garden back home - although you couldn't eat the artichokes summer was too short.
But you need a really large balcony or garden for them. Diameter of one plant was around half a meter . |

More likely the wrong climate. Artichokes don't like heat, don't need a long summer as far as I know. They grow best along the ocean with lots of fog, a la Santa Cruz, Watsonville, and places like that.

Radishes are easy, easier than tomatoes. |

We found tomato and chilli plants at the plant and flower market in Gubei. The tomato plants are 15RMB but as usual for China if there is a Laowai its double, so I hide until its time to pay just to see their long sour faces. Those bastards... hah |
