Post subject: Computer Solutions @ Bubba's

Slightly offtopic, but....

Computer Solutions will be participating in the Chilli Cookoff at Bubba's this year, ...and we hope to win too!

Come down and try out our Chilli!

Hope to see all of you on Saturday, 11th.
It's my birthday also, so bring presents haha!

Lawrence.

Actually Lawrence should do a free computer clinic at Bubbas, or Sport or somewhere, maybe even The Shed.

I could bring in my old Commodore 64 and get him to upgrade it for me.

I do have a Sinclair ZX81 with 16kb of RAM. I can live without colour, but could really do with a bit more memory.

The C64 can be upgraded, but the ZX81 is pretty much maxed out there.
How are you finding the wobbly ram pack?

I always thought that the best use for a zx81 was this:

Lawrence the RAM pack is fine as I've taped it to the ZX81 but loading programs from cassette tape is very hit or miss. The volume level has to be JUST right or it doesn't work. I spent 12 hours typing in a BASIC program and saved it and now it doesn't load back.

12 hours on a zx81 keyboard should equate to about 3 lines of code, so no big loss.
Suggest you upgrade to use the Vic20/C64 floppy drive instead of tape.

My mate had whatever was before the Vic20. It was an 8kb system, but he had a game that needed 9kb. It worked on cold days only.

Photo's from the Event are here -

http://www.sheed.com/Events%202008/

Also have some pics of the Spank party for Chingis, as he obviously wasn't there Wink

Chilli and Spank were both fun, although we had the sneak suspicion that the contest was a little rigged.

It was big fun. Thanks for the photos. Your chili wasn't the worst one there either, so congrats.

Tequila from 8am onwards, made sure that I was happy anyway Wink
No cups for me, straight from the bottle, heheh.

Somehow made it to 4:30am on Sunday, before I finally got to bed.

All in all, was a good birthday, and I even got spanked.
