| Post subject: Ok I've arrived - so where are all these hot girls???? |
Hi all. So I've finally arrived on my 2 weeks 'see if I like it / they like me' trip with my office, and after looking forward to all these "amazing women" I'm must say I'm dissapointed! I've only been in Pudong area with my office so far and been to a mall once, but I can't say I've seen ONE really hot girl yet!!! All the girls I've seen have bad skin, no dress sense, no boobs and NO BUTT at all. After reading "you'll be in heaven" comments I was expecting more.... If things don't improve I'm not coming back. Maybe chinese girls are not my thing... what a shame.
We are heading the other side of the river tonight, so lets hope things improve, otherwise I'm off.

i'd advise u to go to Bar rouge or Lounge 18 or some other good night clubs (or visit couple of them in one night all one by one), usually there are lots of beautiful ppl there and u will see Shanghai from a brighter side
And as for "u'll be in heaven" comments - now u can imagine how unwelcome are those guys in their home countries! So here every single girl is hot for them (even badly dressed and with bush of hair under her arms) |

'Hot girls' is about the worst reason to come to Shanghai I have heard in a while. Not that there are no good looking women (both foreign and local) here, but definitely not in huge quantities. |

Didn't just come for Shanghai for 'Hot Girls'... I am considering coming for a good role for a period of 1 year or more, but I'm single so obviously I've got an interest in the local talent, as I don't want to celibate for the whole time I'm here! I've just got to weigh everything up. So far its slim pickings! And don't think I've got really high standards or rate myself at all - I don't! I just want the basics - pretty, stylish, elegant with a female form... is that too much to ask? |

How long have you been here? You sound a bit desperate... maybe that scares away the "hot girls"...? 
Don't think SH is much different to any other place on earth... a lot of average looking ppl. and a few beauties. But they obviously don't grow on trees and only wait for you to come by and pick them... |

Fair enough, I've only been here 3 days, but 3 days in any country and you'd expect to think "Wow she's hot!" at least once - or is that just me? When I've been in Brazil, Denmark, Ireland, London, Thailand etc I've noticed smokin hot women everywhere, trains, supermarkets, restaurants, on the street etc.
In Shanghai I have just been to and from 2 quite large offices every day - I haven't been 'out' on a night to a bar or club yet, just restaurants. I guess Asian (Chinese) girls aren't my thing. No big deal - and no loss to them!
As I said we're going 'out' tonight so I'll have a better idea tomorrow.

I was a bit harsh mate, sorry. On a serious note, go to 'The Spot' on Friday nights. It's ladies night there then, and I have always seen a lot of nice looking girls there, both local and foreign. Oh, yeah, The Spot is on Tongren Lu near Nanyang Lu (the same side of Tongren where 'Malones' is, not the sleeze mile on the other side of Nanjing Lu) |

Give it time, you need to get used to the different aesthetics. Once your eye is "in" you will start to notice alot more beauty around you....although I agree compared with other cities in China Shanghai seems to have a lower percentage of stunners. |

haha thats what I've been thinking. I'm trying man, really trying! I guess its not a 'knock you over with overt sexuality' city like say Rio or Stockholm where its right in your face.

sounds like you're not. Good news though single ex-pat ladies are always complaining there aren't enough single ex-pats around that aren't into asians. So you can still clean up. |
