| Post subject: Prizes for fapiao's? |
I've been told a few times that the silver scratch off portion of some fapiaos is some sort of lottery system where you can "win things"? Is this true? How does one go about finding out if you've won anything? |

By scratching it off and seeing the RMB amount you won. |

I've won 3 times. Grand total of about RMB 65. But that was some time ago and I'm too lazy to scratch them off these days. |

scatch off winning tickets can sometimes be redeemed immidiately at the business you got it from or at Shanghai Bank, if under 200rmb prize. larger winning amounts need to be claimed at the tax bureau office listed on the back of the fapiaos. |

I always loved how the locals here woudl tell me not to bother scratching off the fapiaos ending in "51" only to find my last 10 winning tickets ALL ended in "51"
Just because you have not won anything or enough to have to doesn't mean no one else does. |

Chinese wife does it all the time. Last mega prize was 5 RMB, but she has scored a couple of nice ones in the past. Scratch away !
Slogan of the West Australian Lotteries Commission, advertised on TV for Scratch'n'Win tickets: "Your luck could change in an instant".

This scratch 'n sniff fapiao scheme will probably end next year. Beijing just put an end to theirs. |

Yeah, hope so. good riddance. We call them scratch and "thankyou", as it so politely says. In 4 1/2 years got a 50, and a 5. Wonder what sort of discount that is. Hmm where's the calculator? Wombat did well though. |
