Post subject: Where can I buy a genuine satellite receiver and card?

Since the pirated channels are down, where can I buy the legit box and card? Does anyone have any idea? If the government allows the apartment compound and hotels to have their genuine dishes and boxes, why can't they add some kids channels? That's all I am looking for.

Read this thread it has all you need to get a genuine system. The PRC government cannot tell a foreign broadcaster what channels to add to it's package.

DreamElectronics,

Excuse me please. I am trying to understand who you are. Are you the company Dream lists on their website as the "offical" Shanghai office to buy Dream?

Then there is Jim who I think consults with Philsatcorp who is also a official distributor of Dream?

If you are the offical office in Dream, how much will you charge for the Crystal Box plus 12 month subscription. Would it be 2450rmb or more money?

Just wondering who you are because I have not seen you posted in the last two weeks.

He's not the Dream company in the Philippines.
Typical with a lot of Chinese companies the have their company name or logo very similar to others to lead you to believe they are genuine.

The correct agent in China for the Dream Satellite company in Philipinnes is;
Philippine Satellite Corp http://www.philsatcorp.com/

Thank you for the clarification...

I doubt he will answer me because while he is acting "all legit" he is really a crook. He's just talking out of the side of his month hoping to catch another uninformed expat into paying 4,000+ for something you can get right from Dream.

The problem is desperate expats will fall for this hook line and sinker for this guy. Twisted Evil

People: Do your research - only use the companies listed on the Dream Webpage. Also, do not pay over 2450 for the box and 1 year subscription!

each price has a reason, we offer a thing at a price we can make sure it's working well as promised and earn a reasonable profit to stay alive to continue it, when there's no profit to make or no customers there then people will quit the business, it's a free market anyway, nobody is pushing you to pay for anything, same everywhere on this planet earth. some words to those people who think it's a ripe off or whatever, if you can not afford it just say it, save your words on blablabla, work harder then when you make much much more money things become cheaper, magic!!!ohh almost forgot again the only thing matters here the link www.dreamsatellite.com

just check my dictionary then i understand that "crook" is a guy who cheats, so we cheated what??? can you be more clear? business i understand is all about buy low sell high, sorry if you appriciate the word "business" the other way we don't have to discuss it here...we get it in the philippines and sell it here, what's wrong with that anyway?

I am very surprised that you responded.

First of all, if anyone does any "homework" on the subject they would see the relationship Philsatcorp has with Dream. Are you aware of this?

You as a business man have the right to ask for an increase so you make a profit, that is understandable and acceptable. What I have a problem with is your attitude towards companies who can offer the legit product at a lower price. You tell people not to buy for them because they are not going to get a good product.

Also, if you go to the Dream Website, the Cyrstal Box is what you should be using, they show a picture!

I don't know why I am so upset over you as I already have my "correct" Dream up and running and do not have any problems.

Just a word of advice: Be fair with Expats and don't put down other vendors to make yourself look good.

Please note: You never answered how much you are charging for each box and 12 month subcription. Are you not willing to tell people? Just answer the question.... Question

I have lots of friends who are asking me about the pricing... That is very important information for people.

Just so everyone has the info - this is what Philsatcorp writes about their company on their webpage.

OK - I'm off my soapbox now! Smile

Who Are We?

We are the official sales agent and representative of Dream TV operating under license from the Philippine Government.

Our role is to assist and attend to inquiries and sales of Dream TV for both individual and commercial customers online outside of the regular business channels.

The Purpose Behind the Setting Up of Philippine Satellite Corporation:

For about ten years, Dream TV has been providing excellent English based TV programs such as CNN, CNBC, HBO, National Geographic, Discovery and sports channels to their viewers but due to a breach in their Conditional Access Security System, unauthorized personnel whom the industry term as "Pirates" started selling cheap, low quality pirated set-top boxes to unwary customers, including commercial establishments such as Hotels, and passing off as agents/representatives of Dream TV.

In order to control the activities of these pirates, Dream TV had periodic scrambling of their channels by the changing their encryption codes, etc... aimed to disrupt the viewing of their programs by those using pirated set-top boxes. However, the problem remained as the pirates would manage to re-program their pirated boxes to decipher the new codes after awhile.

Dream TV therefore decided to invest US$ 2 million in a completely new Conditional Access Security System, targeted to be progressively implemented from 1 March, 2008.

The immediate effect of the switch-over of security system would mean that all pirated boxes will not be able to receive any or Dream TV programs after the new system is fully implemented over a period of time.

We consider all who have fallen prey to these "Pirates" as potential customers and derive no joy in seeing you, your family or your business being affected by this change of security system.

We are also aware that there had been a proliferation of "Mini-Headends" installed at commercial establishments by "Pirates" using their pirated set-top boxes and that unwary customers have been paying them and not the true owners of Dream TV.

Our job and priority as Official Agent/Representative of Dream TV is to assist you to continue to enjoy Dream TV by directly selling to you the new authentic set-top boxes and smart cards.

However initially the supply of the new set-top boxes will be limited because of the huge demand by many existing users to convert to the new system, so we urge you to quickly place your orders with with us so that your viewing will not be interrupted.

dreamsatellite tv..... All of Philsatcorps customers cards can and are being renewed. SO please dont go around saying that is not so as Lady of Leisure just bought 3 new decoders from Philsatcorp a week or so ago and they activated after she received them.

There is no issue of renewals from Philsatcorp at 1800rmb a year.

Do try not to mislead people dreamsatellite.. plenty of your customers have emailed me asking why their blue nagra1 cards they bought from you have not yet been replaced with working Green NAgra3 cards, some of them have had no TV services since the top package went off June 15. Thats nearly 2 months of non working paid subs from your company because you knowingly sold them decoders that could not be upgraded to the new encryption systems, so now they need new decoders and cards.

I replaced many of your clients nokia and DAW recievers last year with the Crystal boxes for free when they lost Australia Network last year when it went to Nagra3. You were told it would change and refused to believe so.

Maybe one of your own clients who got a free replacement from me might help your remember eh?

http://www.shanghaiexpat.com/MDForum-viewtopic-t-78618.phtml

When I first met you in Shanghai March 2008 at Sashas and showed you the Green Nagra3 cards your reaction was that they are fake and Nagra 3 is a hoax.

Dream TV also did not realize that their dealers listing was auto registrating any dealer and changed it so dealers like you would no longer be able to register and claim themselves as the official Shanghai Dream TV dealers. Anybody can put the Dream TV office number on their website to make themselves look official.

But you are right in one sense, nobody in China cares what is legal or not they just need their TV services.

Who they buy from is not an issue as no more do the pirate decoders work, and Dream TV is now being paid for their services, which is the point of changing encryptions.

It took Dream TV longer than planned but it is now done. The only good thig anybody will say is that Dream TV prices which you used to charge over 6000rmb a year for are now at more reasoanble levels.

However pirated services for other satellites still abound for the time being but the dealers know that ICable from HK will also change encryption systems as well to stop the piracy from China.

Life goes on.

Dreamelectronics,

I am asking you directly - HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE FOR 1 DREAM DECODER BOX AND 12 MONTH SUBCRIPTION.

I know English is not your first language, and maybe you did not see when I have ask you 3 TIMES this question.

Please just answer the question. Why it is so hard?

All you need to do is respond with a RMB amount. No need to write long information.

Everyone wants to know, they are waiting. Razz

One more question for Dreamelectronics,

Where is your offical name on the Dream Webpage under Dealers? I cannot find it anywhere.

I was able to find Philsatcorp on the Dream Webpage under Dealers.

Maybe I did not look hard enough? Wink

NO idea.... he posted that he bought from HBOCN.

Maybe like many others he bought from an agent who marked up the prices by 400%

Yes... is that why you edited your post to delete the claims you made saying that Philsatcorp could no longer renew subscriptions and that crystal boxes are not in use by Dream TV and that Philsatcorp has no relationship with Dream TV.

The only story telling going on was by you. You made a claim that Crystal Boxes are not used by Dream TV when Dream TV promote them on their own website. Homecast decoders are also used.

You said crystal boxes are not used by Dream TV but list them on your own website. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Philsatcorp manufacture the crystal boxes but on your website you make it look like they are not from you?

Funny.... are you manufacturing Crystal boxes under licence? Confused

I am now in Korea at the HOMECAST factory where Dream TV and many other decoders for other broadcasters are manufactured. Inluding the SDTV and HDTV decoders I use for my own satellite TV and IPTV services. Wink

Funny thing is I never saw you down at Dream TV's uplink facility on the many occassions I have been there, sometimes staying at the facility for several days at a time.

Also your site needs updating Dream TV have not carried Fox News or Channel V for more than 2 years.

By the way your site claims

200807: Australia Network is on Nagra3, only available via new Homecast box.

But this is clearly an error as all Philsatcorp customers never lost Australia Network on Nagra3 when it switched to Nagra3 as all CRYSTAL boxes issued by Philsatcorp had only NAGRA3 cards in them as Nagra 3 was used full time from March 2008. Crystal boxes never came with Nagra1 cards.

Dream TV also issued Crystal boxes with Nagra3 cards as well to dealers in the Philippines.

Also your links making you look like an official Dream TV agent are clearly misleading.... Anybody can call Dream TV hotline and ask how is dreamsatellite.com and they will reply never heard od them or not an agent of Dream TV

http://www.dreamsatellite.com/subscription.htm

Philippine Subscribers, Please call our DreamCare hotlines at (02) 918-8000 (Globe) and (02) 705-3000 (PLDT). China subscribers please send us emai or call to learn more on China subscription requirements. Tel: (21)2730.9851

I am not an agent of Dream TV but I have both Crystal and Homecast decoders in Taiwan. Nobody has an issue about this but never do I link my site to Dream TV's to make it look like I am an agent for Dream TV.

I am simply a satellite company that provides many satellite services both in Taiwan and outside of Taiwan.

dreamsatellite there is nothing wrong with you charging what you want for Dream TV decoders.

Just stop making out you are the official Dream TV shanghai agent.

You have a nice website which is designed to be misleading and give the impression your company is the official Dream TV office in Shanghai.

You claim on the forums that Crystal boxes are not used by Dream TV but then on your own website show that they are, along with Homecast receivers. Pity as Dream TV list Crystal boxes on their own website as well. NOw you are going around deleting all your posts to remove all your incorrect claims.
