The Shanghai Common Church

Location

The Shanghai Common is a small, open minded, creative community that meets every sunday evening in the old french concession of Shanghai.

Our community is common property which means that we take it in turns to lead evenings and there is no fixed creed that people need to sign up to. We don’t all agree on everything (why would you?) but we do hope to positively influence each other, enlarging our collective vision in the mix of perspectives.
We agree with two core ideas:
- That we all have room to spiritually progress, that there is more to learn than we know and more to experience than we have seen, that we are continually building a richer picture of god (which means different things to each of us).
- That we should make a positive difference in our glorious home of Shanghai and the wider world, that we have a responsibility to people beyond our immediate circles, that it's right to do good.

About once a month our weekly meeting is over some or other tasty brunch.
