Decent soundtrack from ACDC. I liked the first movie and the trailer for the second looks good.

I'll wait for the torrent...

I think the audience in a Chinese cinema and me won't get along well, so better to just watch at home...

Did they edit out any parts of this movie like they did with Pirates of the Caribbean 3?

^ Honestly say, i'm already do not remember about Pirates of the Caribbean 3.. if summarize all the content of IM2: much more "iron men", crazy Russian scientists, beautiful womans and loads of fights. Bad guys die, womans get a kiss and all the robots are demolished. Nice movie for weekends watching.

No doubt it's good, but I'll wait until it comes out on Blu-Ray (yeah, I'm a sucker for buying the real deal).

As for PotC3: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/6744245.stm

China censors 'cut' Pirates film
Chow Yun-fat in Pirates of the Caribbean
The image of Chow Yun-fat's character has been criticised
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End has been censored for Chinese cinema audiences, according to trade magazine Variety.

Some scenes with Hong Kong actor Chow Yun-fat - who plays Singapore pirate Captain Sao Feng - have been trimmed.

Variety quoted local media reports that said the cuts included Chow's recitation of a poem in Cantonese.

A Disney spokesman told Variety that audiences would see a Chinese version of the film.

He added there had been cuts, but did not elaborate.

Violence

On Chinese web forums, many people have criticised the film's image of Chow's character - who is bald, has long nails and is dressed in Qing dynasty style.

They have said it is the image of the Chinese in the eyes of Hollywood producers.

China Film Group, which distributes the film, initially said it had made no cuts, then declined to comment on a Beijing News report that it had cut scenes involving too much violence and horror, Variety said.

The report said the cuts make the film difficult to follow.

"The sudden debut of the captain confused the audience at the Beijing screening," the report said.

Variety reported that the cuts included Chow's reading of a poem by Tang dynasty poet Li Bai (701-762) called Guan Shan Yue (The Moon Shining Over the Mountain on the Border).

The previous instalment in the film franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest was banned by the Chinese film bureau because of scenes of cannibalism and ghosts.

Censors the Film Bureau of the State Administration of Film, Radio and Television were unavailable for comment.

Just got back from seeing Iron Man 2 - did anyone else seem to think that the words Russia and Russian were censored? Not completely bleeped but distorted/scrambled?

In one specific scene I recall, the dialogue was between Hammer and the Russian guy, and he says "You do realise that I don't speak Russian?" The word was distorted enough to make me think something was briefly wrong with the audio, but the Chinese subtitles also said "You know I don't speak your mother language?" (What should have been 俄语 had been replaced with 母语)

I then noticed it a few more times during the rest of the movie. I only found one other reference to this on the net; it was mentioned briefly at Tim's China Blog - Guangzhou (blocked but accessible via proxy.

Am I going crazy or did anyone else notice this? If so, any viable explanations to be proffered?

WTF? Seriously? Ghosts? They must've not been available because they were hiding under their beds for fear of Davy Jones coming after them?

When I saw Avatar, I was far enough away from the Chinese patrons that I really did not notice them. However, there was an expat with his two young sons who just would not shut up despite my telling him to be quiet. Eventually, they left halfway through the movie because the kids started crying because of the violent scenes.

I too noticed the censorship and talked to some other viewers afterwards.
I wasn't quick enough to follow the subtitles in all of those scenes, but one chinese viewer told me, they actually subtitled 阿拉伯语 (Arabic)in a scene where Sam Rockwell's character said "Russian". Can anyone confirm that? Can hardly believe that's true.

I heard about the problems with Chow Yun Fat's character in Pirates of the Carribean before... but then again, anyone saw Ip Man 2 and their classy depicition of westerners? Haha.

According to Satogata, particle accelerators are built to accelerate and collide neutrons, protons and other the subatomic particles at very high speeds. And cell phone spy software while they are can create new elements—an event that occurs every 5 or 10 years—it doesn't happen exactly as Iron Man 2 portrays it
