Not a big deal... the little guy will be in quarantine for about a month or so. After that, no problems.

Make sure you get a local friend / business associate / etc. to help you negotiate leasing terms. Beware of random 'agents' - seriously.

Channing is more of the suburbs rather than downtown. In fact, it used to paddy fields 15-20 years ago. Jing An is one of the oldest districts and has the most expensive real estate. It has a much more city lifestyle with bars and restaurants in closer proximity. Channing has lots of villas with families and is more spread out. But there is an area within Channing called Gubei where there are apartments, bars and restaurants and has more of “hussle bussle” feel about it. It was all built in early 1990's so there are no historic places there.
