This was a stellar gig !!! A Guy Called Gerald is awesome and legendary but no one under 30 seems to know him -- I couldn't believe it when I saw he was playing here. If you're young and clueless, google 808 State and Voodoo Ray and "madchester"...

Again, the show was plagued by poor promotion -- I keep my ear to the ground but i didn't know about it until 2 days ago -- I was sad there weren't more peeps there. La Fabrique is cool. No black light and strobe light hell zone like Pegasus. Open space, chill staff, nice design. Most of the crowd is hopeless fashion victims, but they keep to themselves so I'm alright with that.

What a fierce set! Gerald played a slammin' mix of Detroit techno and pure old school acid house. I was in heaven. Props to the supporting DJ -- any idea who that was??

i actually saw it advertised in one of the local magazines but still managed to forget about it. a real blast from the past from my student days.
