Back of the book reads...

At the age of 23, James Frey woke up on a plane to find his front teeth knocked out, his nose broken, and a hole through his cheek. He had no idea where the plane was headed nor any recollection of the past two weeks. An alcololic for ten years and a crack addict for three, he checked into a treatment facility shortly after landing. The book is Frey's acclaimed account of his six weeks in rehab.

430 pages and I read it withing 24 hours... i couldn't put it down!!

The topic itself isn't what makes the book so amazing... it is this man and what he came out of and what he went through!!!

It is part of Oprah's book club so you can go to her sight and read more about him if you want to... I suggest reading the book first though - you would never believe it is the same person.

Be prepared to have some time on you hands when you start it though :)

Sounds very interesting...

Shall put it on my December-list for shopping when I am home.

Thanks!

It's a really hard read though. I mean, you can feel the pain of detox, both physical and emotional. It sometimes sometimes appears repetitious, but I guess James Frey needed this space to write it. Excellent writer though! I would advice Kate Moss to read this book.

I should add the warning that if you can't take the F word you probably will have a hard time reading this book.
