Hi, I wonder if you could give me the phone of the doctor please? Does he/she speaks English? I've read your posts and wondered if you could help me. Could you pm me the number of the doctor privately? I badly need your help, I am in a bad situation right now. By the way, how many months you're pregnant that time? I am scared I maybe too late for abortion but wanna try it.

building one 7th floor (outpatients)
it is very clean and fast, of course a "chinese" option for who cannot afford to pay a foreigner clinic but nothing to be afraid, just go with a chinese friend if you cannot speak a little chinese to be sure you understand everything, you have to register and go to different floors for the exams, you can do everything in 1 morning then they will tell you which method
I had surgery, (every Tue and Thur) very fast and no pain, they dismiss you almost straight away so don't expect to stay in the hospital
cost is around 1000 CNY including anesthesia
positive experience

Hi Valery,

How many months you are pregnant that time? Isn't it expensive there? I've heard Ruijin is a bit expensive. I've been researching and I found out I would probably have the surgical method in my situation, I am scared, was it just fine?

MONALISALEE : I haven't done the procedure yet but want to thank you for your support. It's comforting at least someone cares and in our side during this moment. Other's are against us but they just don't know how it feels. It is also hard to have a decision like this but we still decided to do it..I pm htnc9 as you've told me hopefully I will have a successful procedure like others. Do you think they are doing the service this week? Its chinese new year holiday.

Thanks.

confused11: It's your body to do with what you need at the time. Judgemental is the last thing you need.

My Chinese friend helped htnc9 by translating over her phone. One of the nurses even sent a sms, thanking her for her help.
She is away, back on the 5th, but would help you in the same way.

Dont know about hospital holiday hours, but my guess would be business as usual, maybe closed for a day. Call them to ask.

Need any more help? p.m. me.

Hi,

I'm not sure if I need an abortion or not, but I'm over two weeks late. After contraception failed I took Plan B from the pharmacy here, but still haven't received my period. I read that if you take Plan B before ovulation that it can delay your period (keeping fingers crossed), but it's been nearly three weeks. I took a pregnancy test about a week and a half ago and it was negative....but I'm just not sure WHERE my period is.

I'm prepared to have an abortion if I am indeed pregnant, and I was hoping that others who have been through similar situations could let me know about the experience and which hospitals are the best. A friend of mine had an abortion in the US and said it was incredibly painful and traumatic. But, from my medical check here I've found the Chinese to be rather efficient.

Anyways, any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm freaking out.

Thanks.

If it comes to that, all the info' you need is on this thread, and others. The 411 Army hospital is good and cheap. I know 3 who have been there.

Meantime, just relax. Time is on your side.

Your snide remark shows a limited intelligence as well as a limited capacity for compassion towards others. If you read my original post you'd see that THE CONDOM BROKE. I took Plan B but it OBVIOUSLY didn't work.

Save your judgements for yourself as I'm sure you've made your fair share of mistakes. If you'd like to post them on here in need of help and have a bunch of miscellaneous conservatives shove guilt and lack of understanding down your throat then please be my guest. It feels AWESOME.

My apologies! I will take that back! Good luck!

Re: Abortion questions

For anyone who's interested I went to the 411 hospital today to have the abortion. As one of the posters on this thread indicated, the procedure should have been around 800RMB. However, when I got there (with my 1000RMB just in case I needed extra medication) they told me it was nearly 2000RMB!! Then, when I asked why it was so expensive, the doctor told me there are two types of abortion you can have which include "a 5 minute procedure with a machine where the doctor can see the baby and "take it out"' or a 20 minute procedure where the doctor uses his or her "experience". This was all very confusing to me. In addition, I was having what appeared to be a nervous breakdown after hearing the doctor so casually mention "take the baby out". I decided to go home and do some more research on the internet.

According to the web, abortions can't be performed before 6-7 weeks....and I'm only 3 weeks. Furthermore, there is no mention of two types of surgical abortion.

Is this doctor **** with me? What is going on? My boyfriend already dealt with my incontrollable crying...and screaming....and hyperventilating...and general insanity for 3 days. I just want to get this over with.

Anyone have any information that could be of help? Please?

Thanks.

Did you take a Chinese person with you? They may just be trying to get extra money. I'm pretty sure I had the 20 minute procedure (seeing as it was 20 minutes long), although the doctor didn't mention anything about the 5 minute one. You may actually have to wait for a few more weeks though. By the way, I'd suggest asking your doctor to exclude the saline drip, or yan2shui3. I went without it as I didn't have enough money on hand and I was fine.

What's all about fake pills ?? Is it really possible to buy them in a pharmacy ?? That's really awful if it's true, and I'm pretty much scared right now, coz I purchased B/C pills here in pharmacy, just few days ago ...
...I love traveling but only to dangerous and cheap places...

Honestly, itchinose, you need to relax a lot more, and Look upon it as a big FART.
No big deal.
If you were 3-4 months preg, the price goes up. Big time.
Stop moaning. Check out some other hospitals, and you will see 2000 is nothing.
Did you negotiate? ....NO.

Alice: had to p.m. you.

If a woman is choosing to terminate her pregnancy but is willing to carry the baby to full term, can we adopt the child from her in a direct/straightforward way? Or will there be insurmountable regulations we will have to face? I am talking about laowai to laowai deal, so no Chinese gov't regs involved.

Interesting question, and of course it is a better option than an abortion. The result will be everybody is happy. But as we are in the ROC, their rules will apply. You will need to check.
Yo, Good luck.

Why is it necessarily a better option than abortion? This woman isn't a soulless incubator. Why should she go through the trauma of an unwanted pregnancy and birth?

I guess it would much easier to abort the baby on its 2nd month rather than the first. I want to share with all of you my experience about this. I had it when I was working abroad specifically in the middle east. I know everyone of us here is aware of how strict the place is. I am too scared too carry the baby out of wedlock. So what we did, was abort him though it hurt me. But I regret that moment. If only I could go back to that time, I would surely carry the baby no matter what.:
