Adresses, email and websites of Shanghai Hotels

Postby lucadg » Mon Jun 13, 2005 12:19 pm

hello,
I would like to contact some Shanghai Hotels dirctly but I find it quite hard to get email addresses and/or websites of the hotels.
All I get from searches are those websites where I can reserve.
i tried the Yellow pages but they suck.

Do you know where I can get those addresses?

Thanks!

Luca

The Lonely Planet Shanghai City Guide has a great list of hotels and everything else you could ever want to know about the city. It mostly only includes phone numbers, but it is a good start on your search. Its available at the Foreign Language book store at 390 Fuzhou Lu (on the 4th floor) as well as many book stores abroad. I got my copy before coming over, and I still carry it everywhere I go.

I used Asia Hotels to book hotels in Shanghai before. It was quite reliable. http://www.asiahotels.com/

I stayed at the City Hotel, pretty much walking distance to where the main action is. A lot of hotel staff speak good English. It's clean and inexpensive. Breakfast is included, but it's kind of weird Chinese and Western blend.

Just Google it. You'll find tons of options. Shop around, too. Mine, Asiahotels.com, asiaxpat.com. You're bound to find something good.

nobody got it right :)
- I don't need a hotel listing website where I can contact Hotels making a reservation
- I need email adresses and websites of Hotels. I need to contact the hotels directly
I've done my goog search but some hotels websites are lost in the ocean of reservation systems...
I mean, is this much to ask, in 2005 a list of hotels email adresses and websites? :) Online yellow pages shoud provide that but they don't (I am not in Shanghai or China so I can't use the paper versions).
This is also a nice subject of discussion in what the internet is and where it is going.
Thanks anyway for your help!

i found one which allows direct contact with hotels. It doesn't disclose their emails but at least they will get it. I write it in case anybody needs the same in the future
