Basically, the main character is an obsessive-driven person with, clearly, mental concerns. The American Dream turns to sh*t.

i don't think he did. it's just his delusion under the "American pressure"
i love CB's performance, though. Great actor.

One of the best books I've ever read.

Remember it was a bit "slow" in the beginning, and then around page 138 it...

Woah yeah - the book goes places, and sends your mind places that the film never can acheive... and not all of them good...
The 'music album' chapters just add to the wierdness...
