someone just recomended me a good comic by a hong kong artist and i realised i havent actually seen any comic shops here at all..
so i should try and pick this book up, are there any in shanghai?

Heard Joy Entrance on Hongmei Lu has more than 20,000 Manga comic books...maybe worth to try.

If you're looking for Marvel or DC titles or imprints, your best bet is to subscribe to the online versions at marvel.com or dccomics.com

Or you can trade digital scans of back-issues. I've got the entire Amazing Spider-Man series in CBR files, and a few other titles, mostly Marvel. It's much easier to travel with than the 30 crates of books in storage I've got back in the US.

One of the few things I really miss about America is comic book stores. I know, I'm a nerd. If anyone ever opens a comic shop in Shanghai, please let me know, I will be there.

I've been wondering about this for a while- are there any Chinese knock-offs of American comics? When I lived in Argentina, I saw quite a few of those- stuff like an evil foul-mouthed Captain America & an unscrupulous nazi-like Super-Man teaming up to fight an incredibly studly Argentinian super hero, who of course ripped their heads off with the greatest of ease. I didn't know whether to laugh or what. The lawyers at Marvel and DC would have a hay-day.

But seriously, is there any Chinese stuff like that? There's got to be something around here.
