Anyone use Pimsleur ?

Postby ChinaBrah » Wed Aug 03, 2011 9:36 am

I'm using it, im on unit 6 and it seems to be working pretty well.

My question, when i finish all the units what level will my Chinese be on?

I'm a quick leaner so I think I can get through all 3 parts and all the units in less than a week or two.

I thought how can he be a good learner when he s totally brain dead, but then I noticed you said "leaner". Is that the same as "bender"? No reason to doubt that.

I've used Pimsleur quite extensively in my language studies. Specifically, I have gone through Italian Levels 1,2,3 and Greek 1, and Egyptian Arabic 1. I found them to be very helpful, although in no way can you gain fluency using these courses. They are, however, a great way to help pronunciation, listening skills, and provide a great memory power increase, of the language being studied. I recommend it, but wouldn't pay the full price for it. Fortunately many large city libraries have the courses available for check out. Hope this helps.
