Anyone used Worldwide Relocations at Pembroke Pines, FL??

Postby newmover » Tue Oct 19, 2004 10:27 am

I am moving my stuff from US to Shanghai using a company called Worldwide Relocation at Pembroke Pines, FL. However, recently I found out that they are not a reliable company, bad service, slow response, and no replies to e-mails or phones.

I am worried about my things being shipped by them. Is there anyone who have used their service? According to the company in Shanghai (the one that helps you with the import license), there is another expat who is using this company's service. And they have received their stuff 2 months ago from US to Shanghai. As privacy is a concern, she does not want to reference this expat. I am at my ends here worried !! Is there anyone who knows anybody that have used this Worldwide Relocation company so that I can talk with them for reference ???

I haven't used them, but why don't you contact the Better Business Bureau in Florida (and/or in the state where the headquarters are located) to see if there have been many complaints filed againist the company.

You can also do a search to see if there are any impending lawsuits.

Check that they have the proper licensing, insurance, etc before the move.

Try calling them or sending them emails. See if you get a response.

Ask them for letters of refernce and contact the authors of those provided; keep in mind that it will be hard to verify if the person who wrote the letter is actually a previous customer and not just Uncle Bob.

Talk to some relocation agents and professionals to see what their assessment on the company are. If you have any friends who are in real estate, it may be worth asking them too; word like that spreads.

Hopefully you will find someone who has had experience with this company and they can give you firsthand knowledge.

Best of luck to you and your belongings. Welcome to Shanghai, when you get here!

I have a friend who works at a company called Santa Fe Relocation services. I know that he takes great pains to ensure smooth transitions for clients. You can check out their website at http://www.santaferelo.com/ecs/index.jsp .
