thanks but I am looking more for recommendations of people staying in estates which they think are good rather than agents for now. I will however keep your recommendation in mind when apartment hunting.

I spent this week looking at compounds.. and I really liked City Castle-- the clubhouse is brand new and the apartments were nice and decorated modern... Some parts are still under construction and it has an empty feeling compared to other compounds.. but if I were to pick in Jing'an I would have picked City Castle. At the end I opted for the Xiatiandi area--- but all in all really liked City Castle and if I were to stay in Jing'an would have chosen City Castle. Another good option is Top of the City-- but the apartments can vary from very new and modern to something that came from the 1970s... just my two cents.. good luck!

Thanks for your reply. Was actually at the City castle showroom last few days and was told that the rental there averages 18K -20 for the non serviced apartments.Clubhouse for me isnt a concern because I am almost never in them. It wasnt the phase two that I was asking.Will ask an agent to check this time.

The top of the city is out of the way for me.

Check on Jing An Elites tower, a brand new building. Top class apartments. They work only through agencies though, Citic Realty and Panda Realty. Maybe someone else has options there though.

I'm moving there in 2 weeks. Beautiful building. Serviced-apartment like, without the ridiculous price. 2brs go from 9k to 10k, 3brs from 12 to 15k.
