Apartment Stuff - Best Place to Shop?

Postby Buck Plankchest » Mon Jan 19, 2009 9:24 am

Moving into my apartment late this week, Skyline Mansion near Lujiazhui Metro Line 2. Since I need to buy everything from dishes to towels to food, I'd like to do it in as few stops as possible. So is it better to go to like Ikea for the "stuff" and then a supermarket for food, or go to WalMart and get it all in one trip? I may have a driver, so transport might not be an issue (I hope). If you can, assuming both scenarios, driver vs no driver, would be awesome.

I suggest you check out HEC (Hotel Equipment Corporation) at 345 Aomen Lu, near Jiang Ning Lu. Tel. 62761111

Its an amazing place, they would have everything you might need for your home... you can get the other stuff at Ikea...

For food, you can go to Carrefour and City Shop...

If you really want to do one stop shopping you should just go to Carrefour. As they have both towels, dishes etc and food. It would be easiest.

You could go to Jinqiao Carrefour, as there is also a B&Q so you could shop there as well in one go.

I would go with the IKEA for all the house stuff....
The dishes, pots, pans at Carrefor are crap.
(Looking for Cook Quality Pans...go to HEC)

Then one stop at a Carrefor to stock in the food (I prefer Gubei)
or
One stop at the City on Hong Mei Lu...little more pricey, but better selection of staples like flour, salt, sugar, papergoods, bathroom cleaning stuff, kitchen wraps/bags, herbs, spices, ect....
(Not sure how much of a cook you are....if not into it, then Carrefor)
Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital ingredient in beer.....Dave Barry
