have you checked with garden books? city supermarket also has a surprisingly handy selection of book. a last-last-last resort could be the gift shop in the shanghai museum... don't laugh... they really do offer some hard-to-find books.

oh! just checked garden books and they are showing it as something they have/had. perhaps you can call to see if they have in stock. cost is RMB230. 54048729.

I got mine in the foreign books section of Gubei Carrefour...they always have them there...they also have a Shanghai for Kids book that is good. The section isn't with all the other books as you walk in its further in at the far corner next to the Toilettries (johnsons baby stuff)

Hi, I have saw it in the bookshop in Green Leisure Center, next to the pines market. If can't find it on the board, you can ask the stuff bring it to you.

On the other side, your Ayi can learn English in AyiPro Domestic English Course.
It will teach Ayi to learn English words and phrases important to household functioning in 20 hours face to face oral English training with our professional teacher. And we’ll provide a useful handy book for the Ayi which can help you in the future.
It’s ONLY RMB900 for the 20 hours summer course.

I just purchased a copy at the bookstore between Pines Market and Decathlon in Green City Center. They have 3 other copies on the shelf for anyone who is interested.

Thanks for the recommendation - it is an excellent resource.

Just saw them yesterday at the bookstore next to the Bank of China on Bi Yun Lu, across from Carrefour--in the bottom of the white Green Court (Green Court II) apartments. Great bookstore--lots of good stuff.

This may not be the answer to all of your ayi needs but we can offer a little something that might aid in your grocery shopping pains. The following is a link to our Grocery guide that we developed as part of a series of guides to help Expats live life in Shanghai...without B.S. (kind of our catchy slogan - we hope you like it) :-)

www.loveboxstorage.com/shanghai-guides/ ... ut-bs.html

Anyway, the original was printed with laminate so that we could use a dry erase marker and reuse as a grocery checklist but feel free to print it whenever in need.

I suggest to get a Filipino Ayi and save yourself all the trouble.

Sad to say but Chinese maids are not known to be very good at cleaning - move a chair and you can see where it was. Without being offensive they clean by doing what they have been told to do without understanding what it is they are doing.

Filipinos speak English and understand what clean is.

If you want to see what your Ayi's idea of clean is - go to her home un-announced and see how clean it is.

There are still copies of this book available in the little bookshop in Green City between the Pines market and Decathalon most every time I go in there. That's where I purchased mine.

We were told by managment it would open at end of year. Given my experience with clubhouse delays I always add another 6 months to what ever they say. I remember years ago when they were typically 12 months behind because they had no experience in building them and they had so many rules and regulations to follow. (circa 1995)
