Recently had the deep dish pizza at Chloe's in Pudong and it was good for Shanghai. Smothered with cheese, even inside the edge of the crust so the lactose locals might not like it. While not Chicago-worthy deep dish it probably one of the better pie's I've had in China.

Miss Fugliness wrote:This is my lunch today I ordered in Sherpas. I have to say this will be my first and last time ordering New York Style Pizza. What were they thinking.. 112rmb Create your Own pizza and this is how it looks like. It's like they just throw in everything without even spreading it nicely. Ok, the meat, the sausage taste good.. but the whole thing is just bad...

Pizza hut and Dominos is still the best for me..

What exactly is wrong with this? Apart from the fact that the pastry looks a bit on the thick side...

Also it looks soggy, but that's because it's home-delivery. Home delivery pizza is never any good. Pizza has to be eaten straight out of the oven.

Damn, I feel like a beer now...

I ordered from Pizza Street last Saturday. I went down to buy some beer from the supermarket in front of my apartment compound. When I got back, the delivery guy was already at my door. :!: The pizzas were good, albeit not the best, but worth the price for delivery.

So far, it is Pizza Hut for me unfortunately. I know this does not help much here in Shanghai, but the best pizza I ever had outside of New York was this place in Beijing called The Kro's Nest. It is a restaurant tucked behind the Outback restaurant next to Worker's Stadium. Amazing pizza!!! It was even better than some I have had in New York. Not only it is delicious but all of their dishes are huge portions.

Start a thread about where to get the best blowjob in town. Thus far the city is sorely lacking. As for pizza, Alexander Pizza Fabbrica is the best, can get over mealbay.

Unless an authentic thin crust italian pizza doesn't satisfy you... i guess if your an american you'll want a super thick crust with 5000 calories.

Source: Have been to Italy three times and had the very best pizza the world has to offer.

Just about everyone on here praised the pizzas with thin crust. I'm not a fan. I dont care about "authenticity" as I'm not a connoisseur and dont eat much pizza. Once every month or two only.

Where can I find medium to thick-crust pizzas on delivery?
Not quite Chicago deep-pan-pie style, but not millimetre thin either.

I think we should split this topic in two, one about the best Italian (European) style pizza and one about American style. It has no meaning at all keep talking between people considering pizza two things with almost no connection at all, but the one to be something flat with something on it!

The way I like it. I'm not sure fans of NYC style will though.

So far like many others I have to vote for Pizza Hut and Domino's. I dont claim to be a connoisseur; it's just what I like and it's how I make them when I make my own.

Where else does that style delivered?

I am Italian so my favorite is obviously the thin, crusty one with the right amount of topping (right for me) but I am perfectly fine with any other people taste.
I am not the kind of person that thinks that Starbucks coffee is shitty because it's different from Italian coffee. It's just another product.

Papa John's is the most American/Authentic I found but I'm not difficult when it comes to pizza's... dough, cheese, meat = YES! I go to the one in the food court on Bi Bo Lu in Pudong. Zhangjiang hightech zone. Either for lunch or I grab one before going home.

Not necessarily. I happen to love both styles of pizza. The thin, blistered crust Napoli style as well as the deep dish Chicago pies and the big greasy triangles of New York style Pizza.

Its just that in Shanghai we have a couple of places that do pretty good representations of the former and none that do a passable versions of American style.

Idk California Pizza Ktichen hits the spot for me. Always consistant although for the the size I guess the costs is maybe not so reasonable.
Is the glass half full or half empty?

Is this a recommendation of an advertisement? I went there once, the food in the photos outside looked awful. I suggest you invest some money in a photographer. I didn't dare go in after that. Just went somewhere else.

At the moment the pizza I like most is at "Da Gennaro" (and there is no wood oven....). Good places are the already mentioned Casanova, Pane e Vino and That's Amore (not always...) and Bella Napoli (Changle Road). The Kitchen in good too but way overpriced when compared with the others (too much salty both in taste and price!).

Cheers

That's Xuanhua Road, not "Xanghua". I've only eaten there once and didn't have pizza, but the osso bucco was pretty good.

They didn't look busy last time I drove past ( a few days ago). Wrong location maybe?

I will try their pizza.
