bloated stomach medicine/doctor

Postby balloon » Wed Nov 01, 2006 5:45 am

I've had this problem for years.. however, sometimes it's better and sometimes it's worse... almost every day after lunch my stomach swells into a bloated stage. I look like I am 9 months pregnant! If I have work to do in front of the computer it's terrible.. then I just sit and watch the stomach swell. It also hurts a fair bit, and it's so annoying, because I can barely wear my jeans anymore. Tight close is a bit no no, they have been for years. I think because the rest of me is quite skinny, the stomach becomes so obvious when it swells. It's really embarrassing and annoying.

I know a lot of people have similar problems, at least in Europe. And over there there's no medicine for this. I was wondering if anyone has a similar problem here in SH and know of a good stomach doctor (in SH) or medicine?

Thanks for your help.. I don't eat beans and that sort of stuff, but it still swells. Trust me, I have tried cutting things out of my diet, but nothing really seems to work. sometimes it swells even though I don't eat anything. What is colonoscopy, or colon irrigation? Is that when the stick this hose/tube (whatever it's called) down your throat? And where could I go for a detox? does that sort of stuff really help?

Do u know if they have any good tablets here (not prescribed only from the pharmacy) that can ease trapped gas after eating? I used to take a tablet called 'Mint' when I lived in OZ, it was the best one ever, but I haven't seen it here.
