Books for Charity

Postby Pierrro » Thu Oct 23, 2008 10:26 am

Hello book lovers....

Automn is coming.... Time to hide under a blanket with a good book

Bellow the updated book list ... The stock is up to 270 books now (13 French - 257 English)... Start to run out of place in my flat :)
Note : In blue are the new additions

All books still sell for 20 Rmb (try to beat this in Shanghai) and remember, all proceeds go to Charity... So do a good gesture + train your workcells... Get yourself some books for the winter...

I'll be home this week end... Available to exchange some books around City center or have you come up to my place to look at the collection...

Few notable books

==> Lance Amstrong : "IT'S NOT ABOUT THE BIKE". Now that he's comming back to win a 20th Tour de France... Might be time to find what it is about ??

==> Dave Barry : "GUIDE TO GUYS". Hillarious... Great present to your Girlfriend

==>A Few bestseller Authors (TOM CLANCY - MICHAEL CHIRCHTON - ROBERT LUNDUM - KEN FOLLET - DICK FRANCIS)... always a pleasent read

==> DIVINE SECRET OF YA-YA SISTERHOOD from Rebecca Wells

==> And finaly a "Feed good book" that I enjoyed recently : CAN'T WAIT TO GO TO HEAVEN by FANNY FLAGG... Story of a nice grandmother who dies bitten by a flock of Angry bees... And while everybody is crying her and preparing her funeral decides to come back to life...

Cheers

Pierrro,
c'est genial ce que tu fais! i'm really impressed by your generosity and your love of books! i've been reading your former post this year about second hand book trading,
and now just found out you posted again here with more books!

i have quite a few used books at my house and eventually would like to either donate them or add them onto your list,
and also help you in any other ways i can!

Updated list with a few classics such as ROBINSON CRUSOE, THE THREE MUSKETEERS, ANNA KARENINA, LES MISERABLES...

Also if you lost all your money during financial crisis, few books to get it back ;-) from Mr Donald (DONALD TRUMP : HOW TO GET RICH, THINK LIKE A BILLIONAIRE, THE ART OF THE DEAL).

Finaly, if you are the One person who hasn't red it yet, I just got the DA VINCI CODE from DAN BROWN (The book is better than the movie)...

Have a great week :-)

Excellent !!
thanks a lot for doing this Pierro. I was looking for an opportunity for book exchange as well as donating some old books.
This is even making me join ShanghaiExpat :). I have some used English and French books, including some kids books “J‘aime lire". I'll bring them along Saturday.

Cheers,

I think i am ok for now Pierro, i would like to take some time to go through your list first. I will probably bring 10-15 books and a series of J'aime Lire kids books. I would be glad to exchange contact info when we meet.

Thanks again.

Back from a lovely week-end to a gloomy monday...

Thanks for all who came to the Saturday coffee meet/book swapping. It was a great success with 17 books sold and 50 more brought to the pile :-)

I am currently updating the book list. Should be able to plublish it by tomorrow.

In the meantime, and waiting for next session. Have a great week ahead

Cheers
