even though my family doesnt want to join me in australia this christmas (yes, i'll be one of those losers spending christmas alone:P), and decided to go to boracay instead, somehow i'm still in charge of booking the flights and hotels for them:S i've never been there and wanted to ask if anyone can recommend a nice hotel (they have an 8 year old kid) not too far from the beach, but not too pricey either?

There a lots of hotels along the white beach. Cannot recommend anything there, because I stayed budget in a nice cottage with broken aircon.
If you research about the hotels, just focus on white beach.

btw. Boracay is nice if you want to eat a lot or drink every night or do watersports. not very relaxing there. So I moved on earlier than planned to Palawan and found heaven on Coco Locco Island (near Roxas)

We had a good time at nigi nigi noo noos; beachfront property, bar/restaurant on site, down towards the quieter part of the beach, and service was helpful.

and definitly the coolest name - worth a smile each time I passed that place
