Can i trust online airline tickets (Asiaair.com)booking?

Postby Cecilia » Sat Jun 18, 2005 1:49 pm

hi, have you ever used this online ticket booking website called Asiaair.com.

in the end, they let me input the info. of my credit card, but im kinda of worried that they would charge many many money from my credit card.
So, i would like to ask if anybody used that website before? and please share ur experiences if its safe and secure to tell the credit card number?? thanks..

Cecilia,

Is it because you wanted to book something and then they asked u to put down your credit card info? Or is it part of the info they need on you? Cuz if its option two, that would be weird to me. I am not really into sharing my CC details with online companies.

I've got no problem with giving my details to big well known companies like Amazon as the success of their business depends on the trust of its customers, so they should be taking every precaution they can. However I would never give my details to a company I did not know well.

but if anybody tried and book there b4, and not be treated, then i will try, too. thanks for ur attention.

Have tried and took a dozen times of this airline by payment through credit cardfor the past few months......no problem for this budget airline-Air Asia. They are very professional on that so far with proper protection in the transaction and pretty well run, no frill flight. definitely well worth your every cents......Good luck !!

The only question I have is we are still seeing some Asian countries still protect their air passage and monolopolise market shares by charging high price, they donot allow budget airline to start business between their countries. Where is the free trade on air passage though we are observing yearly WTO forum being conducted but no improvement in opening up air passage for budget airlines ??

I've travelled around Southeast Asia for the last seven months and I've taken several flights with Air Asia, including the one from Bangkok to Macau. The airline is great because it's cheap and it's reliable.

A couple of tips when booking with Air Asia:

- book online; because they systems in their offices sometimes have different prices
- try to book early; if you book at least 1 week earlier then you'll get great deals
- watch the baggage limits; keep in mind that since this airline is very budget, there are strict baggage weight limits such as 18kg or so...if you go over, you can end up paying more for extra weight than your actual ticket value
- check in time; make sure you check in at least 45 minutes before departure
- race for seating; there is no assigned seating so if you have a preference, then get to the front of the line
- bring snacks or food; they don't serve any complimentary food or drinks on the flight, and their menu selection is very limited

Good luck with AirAsia...

I agree with what you're saying. When I was in Vietnam, the travel agent told me it was cheaper to fly from Saigon, Vietnam to Macau with a stopover in Bangkok, Thailand, then it was to fly direct. Even if I flew from Hanoi, Vietnam to Macau, it still would've been cheaper to fly through Bangkok.

Basically, I think there's too many arrangements with airline companies and local governments. Every country wants their own "national" airline company to be the main carrier even though other MNCs can provide flights cheaper.

An simple example is my national carrier, Air Canada, which claimed bankruptcy and would've been obsolete if it weren't for the Hong Kong tycoon's son to bail it out.

I guess Cecilia was talking about airasia, actually as some guys said it's a pretty good e-ticket airline company to budget traveller.
I used credit card to book their tickets before online, everthing is very smooth.
