CHEAP TICKET TO SINGAPORE

Postby cruella » Thu Oct 20, 2005 11:47 am

Hi!

Anyone has an idea where i can find cheap roundtrip air fare from shanghai to singapore? it doesn't have to be a direct flight, i don't mind having a stopover somewhere.

Thanks!

Singapore Airlines has a promo now. www.singaporeairlines.com/china. I think it is RMB2200. For RMB200 more, I will choose SQ over the other airline.

I got my SQ tickets at a total price of RMB 2635. You have to book online though.

the cheapest way i found out last time is

1. take a train to HK, 26 hours, 558RMB Nett if you buy cheapest seat (bed), comfortable. if you take plane, maybe not worth costwise.
2. from hk, take jetstar asia, i booked 2 weeks in advance so that time i got SGD88 nett. can only book over internet.

thanks for all your suggestions...yeah, i was told that jetstar is really cheap but i don't know about taking that train ride to hk...i heard it's really horrible. i have a friend who took the train and the people who were with him in the train cabin were disgusting...they just spit anywhere and one even let her kid pee on the floor! imagine being stuck like that for 26 hours! that's sheer hell!

i think that is just a minority case, that train usually only have hongkies and shanghainese who have money and the time to travel. my last two experience was good, meeting a few backpackers and old grandfathers telling stories.
