Cheap tickets to Denmark...?

Postby sioux » Wed Mar 22, 2006 1:47 pm

Hi,

My husband and I really want to go to Denmark for a special family party in the end of April, so I have contacted airlines in Denmark but I only got insane prices...So I tried to call different travel agencies in Shanghai, some just hung up on me (because they did not speak English, I assume) and some said that they found a really cheap price for me - only 10.000 RMB :o (which is A LOT, I think)
So I just wanted to check if you know of any cheap tickets (/airlines /travel agencies) from Shanghai to Copenhagen, Roundtrip...??? (in the end of April, to the middle of June)

-Thanks for any help!!!

I have travelled with both FinnAir and SAS before, but only from Denmark to Shanghai (where the tickets are very cheap, down to 4000 RMB, Round trip). So I called them, but if I wish to fly from Shanghai to Denmark then the price is around 17.000 RMB. So I was told to buy the tickets in Shanghai, but my problem is I have no idea where...???

No SAS Shanghai office (I actually don't know). But I can tell you that when I went to buy a ticket to the States on United, the Chinese United Website offered a MUCH lower ticket than the US United website...

I think that's quite surprising. Flights to the UK on BA website are much cheaper generally to travel from here on a round trip than other way round.

You might find it cheaper to fly BA or Virgin and then change in Heathrow. There's both a BA or Virgin flight almost everyday and I know from doing business in Denmark that there are stacks of flights from Heathrow to Copenhagen everyday- I've even flown to Billund (home of Legoland) easily from London.

tickets for most airlines will usually be cheaper in the home country of the airline... sorry it might sound logical... but thats the way they work aside from the low season promos
45-50wpm w 3-5% error rate. i apologise now for my typos. - damn butter fingers :P

Danish reply

Postby horsemandk » Thu Mar 23, 2006 2:08 pm

Hi, when we go to Denmark we always use Air China or China Airlines, you have to go via Beijing though.

Normal price should be around 5.000,- RMB / Person.

"Ping" me if you need help!

Kevin Sorensen

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback.
I am looking into China Airlines, but I can only see that I have 3 options of countries in Europe and Denmark is not one of them (http://www.china-airlines.com/en/index.htm)
What am I doing wrong?
Can you give me the link or phone number or so?

Hi again.

The problem is that you need to know somebody who knows somebody to get the good prices :D

Fortunately for you my wife has such a contact and she's willing to help all Danish citizens as she's married to one :D

You can message me through MSN: horsemandk@yahoo.com

Sincerely,
Kevin

Nice Avatar Sioux!

I fly back to Copenhagen often and sometimes I get good rates, other times not, depends on when I'm flying. I always fly SAS though and have gotten tickets as low as RMB 5000 roundtrip once (had to fly on special dates). Email saschina@sas.dk, the person you contact is Cheng.

Good Luck.

SAS has even cheaper prices if you have the contacts.

I've been flying twice for as little as 3.995,- RMB !

You have to be tough on them, here in China it's all about negotiating even with the airlines.

We usually "chop" off at least 500 - 750,- RMB on long distance flights!

"Travel with SAS from China between 1April and 31May06 and enjoy fares from CNY6,400."

That is direct from SAS website, www.scandinavian.net - and choose China as your location

As a Danish citizen I know what; "Travel with SAS from China between 1April and 31May06 and enjoy fares from CNY6,400.", means.

It only means that they offer 10-20 tickets at that price and believe me they were already gone before April 1st. (this is actually legal as a case has been run in court back home about this!)

Believe me there are no more seats at that price, chaepest offer so far is 9.875,- RMB

I double checked with SAS here and in Denmark!

We usually pay 4700,- RMB to Copenhagen with SAS because we have a good non SAS agent to book for us :-)

The chaepest ticket ever was only 3.995,- RMB to Copenhagen (last year during July)
