Sorry for the attitude. Yes, we have had some experiences before. It is really important to be clear about the nature of the event, because it can get out of control very easily if we do not. We have had foreign english teachers invite their whole local english language class to our "english corner" - so its not about keeping locals out..its about maintaining the quality of the meeting so that new expats have a place to meet people and get to know more about living in Shanghai. We have been severely criticized for having coffee meetings at which no foreigners were apparently present. So we are just being clear. Last week, there was a nice mix of expats and local and everyone appeared to have fun and good discussion. This is what we want.
