Not sure what sort of comic books you are looking for buy may try the book stores in children or arts section. The other day saw quite a no. of comic books e.g. Doraemon in Book City on Fu Zhou Lu.

The Foreign Book Store on Fuzhoulu and that largest book store near by both carry some comic books. I always found Dilbert there at similar prices to the US price (about RMB90-120 depending on the exchange rate when they imported them). Just go and ask the information desk and they will search for you with the name given.

I have seen a couple of graphic novels in the city, but always older basic stuff, and usually stuck in the Children's sections. As for buying monthly books here in Shanghai, I am pretty sure it can't be done.

But I have a good friend who owns a comic book store back in the U.S. and I was thinking of starting to have him ship me over comics monthly. Perhaps if you want to combine orders we could save on shipping.
