company moves from Pudong to Baoshan, where to live???

Postby abysmal » Sun Aug 17, 2008 12:36 am

Hi friends,

our company moves to Baoshan district end of this month and I have the difficult task to make a decision where to move. At present I live in Pudong, near Dong Feng Lu, cuz the office is now located in Lu Jia Zui. It would take me a 1,5 hrs single journey to the new location if I would stay here. Some friends say "don't move to remote areas" and others say "avoid long travel times, especially to Baoshan district". So I made a "half decision" for myself already and think about a close connection to metro line 1 or 3 and to any highway access, but not too "far from life" near Puxi.

Would appreciate to get some opinions and suggestions from someone who was in the same situation or someone who knows Shanghai's areas better than I do...

What you need is a real estate agent.

How do you expect people to "know" available apartments?? People can only provide advice on districts or general locations, not specific apartments. Cozo suggestion on Hongkou was a good one, another (farther) option would be around the train station in Zhabei district, or in Putuo district (Zhongtan Rd/Zhenping Rd). All near line 3. But to find available apartments you will need to get down to those places and find a local real estate agent.

thanks for suggestions to the area, that helps. specific apartments is another thing, well recognized... hard to find a reliable agent..
