Hello all,
I'm an American, considering moving to Shanghai in a few months..wondering when is an ideal time to move. I'll be seeking work as an English teacher so, ideally, I'd like to be there at the beginning of a new school year

this time is as good as any. china's all abuzz....preparing for 2008 olympics....2010 world expo.
greater foreign presence in most industries here in shanghai....cool time to be watching their state of flux.

Anytime is really fine. The winters are pretty brutal though (at least for me). Temps don't get that cold (usually around 40F with a few colder days) but they are wet. Chills you straight through to the bone. Spring is rainy. Summers hot and dry. Autumn is great.

The city itself is quite a bit of fun. Always something to do.
