DJ Equipment

Postby Kief » Sat Nov 12, 2011 1:35 pm

From my research it seems on top of my iPad I might need a CDJ, something that can play a CD like a vinyl record, any idea on where I can find this? I prefer to try hands on before purchase online.

Thanks.

A Pioneer DJM mixer and two CDJ cd players would be what you are looking for.
Depending how much you want to spend you are looking at 10,000 to 35,000 for a set.

A two channel DJM-350 mixer and two CDJ-400 would do the trick, around 12-14,000 for a set, and if you wanna go up to club standard you are looking at DJM-800 and CDJ-1000MK3 minimum (standard today is DJM-900 and CDJ-900/2000 but that will cost you around 25,000).

Walk over to a bar/club with the setup and ask to have a look (before they are starting to use it) and then buy it online.

I was looking for a set too. If you are a bedroom DJ (no offence), I think the CDJ 350's are fine. Last time, I saw a shop in a mall that sold all the DJ equipment you can ever desire. The mall is close to Hua Hai Lu, Huang Pi Lu. I know how to get there, but don't know the specific name of the shop. I actually wanna go there and have a look as well.

By the way, I don't think buying online is much cheaper. Bargaining at a shop should do the work. With these delicate machines, I rather pay a little more and can go back to a shop when it's defective.

The electronics market on Xiangyang Lu a few blocks south of Huaihai Lu has a booth on the 2nd or 3rd floor that has lots of decks for you to check out. Can't speak on the prices as I haven't been looking to purchase.
