Do they have Girl Scouts in Shanghai?

Postby Funky Monkey » Fri Jan 27, 2012 11:45 pm

Just wondering if they have Girl Scouts troops in Shanghai (esp. Pudong) for middle school kids.
Also, if the school my daughter goes to doesn't have a troop, could she join the troop of another school that does have one?

Hi FM,
I'll try to drag my wife on to PM you, but if you are referring to US Girl Scouts then yes. I've heard Shanghai is the largest region outside the US, which I'm not sure I believe, but there are many active troops in Pudong and Puxi. Most are school-based rather than neighborhood, but some arrangement could probably be made. If you are choosing schools, you could ask as part of admissions.

Where I come from, and many other countries, they are known as Girl Guides. and depending on age and experience, can be Pippins, Brownies, Guides, Rangers, Leaders.
Scouting is for boys.
