Here is his earliest picture to prove he is. He is just competitive.

RULES TO REMEMBER IN LIFE:
1. Money can't buy happiness but it’s more comfortable to cry in a BMW than on a bicycle.
2. Many people are alive only because it’s illegal to shoot them.
3. Alcohol does not solve any problems, but then again, neither does milk

Then again, as the world records Phelps broke or helped break (six, I think) were set by himself or the US, I doubt the inclusion of the best Aussie swimmers would have made a difference one way or the other.

This is a true daily diet for Michael Phelps....no BS!

US swimmer Michael Phelps made history yesterday when he scooped a record-breaking 11th Olympic gold medal. He has now topped the podium five times in Beijing. After his latest victory, he revealed the secret behind his six-days-a-week, five-hours-a-day training regime: an extraordinary 12,000-calorie daily diet, six times the intake of a normal adult male. This is a typical day:

Breakfast Phelps kick starts his day and his metabolism with three fried-egg sandwiches, but with a few customised additions: cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions and, of course, mayonnaise. Amuse-bouche out of the way, he throws back two cups of coffee and sits down to an omelette - containing five eggs - and a bowl of grits, a porridge of coarsely ground corn. He's not finished yet. Bring on the three slices of French toast, with powdered sugar on top to make sure there's no skimping on the calories. And to finish: three chocolate chip pancakes.

Lunch With breakfast wearing off and the hunger pangs biting, Phelps downs half a kilogram - ie a whole packet - of enriched pasta and two large ham and cheese sandwiches. On white bread with loads of mayo on top. To remove any chance that his body will run out of fuel, he washes this down with about 1,000 calories of energy drink.

Dinner Time to load up on carbs for the next day's training. Another half kilo of enriched pasta goes down the hatch with a chaser of an entire pizza and another 1,000 calories of energy drinks. And so to bed.

As Phelps told US television channel NBC yesterday: "Eat sleep and swim, that's all I can do."

I would say he is NOT NORMAL!

He actually lives close to me in Bikini Bottom and I have seen him eat 4 crabby-patties at one time. And yes he does breath water and have webbed feet. However Patrick does blow him away in the brains department.

Foolish humans.

You still don't get it, do you?

We have established that certain species of dolphins and whales are the best hope for intelligent life on this planet in the long run. You apes are doomed to die out as the planet warms.

Michael Phelps is the only future for your species, a hybrid man-dolphin developed by us with the help of friendly intelligence agencies. We are still asking for female volunteers for DNA and wombs, otherwise we will have to go back to abductions again. Male volunteers need not apply, as our agents already have obtained copious supplies of male DNA by various methods.

wonderer is just pulling your leg. He continues to be part of the conspiracy quid pro quo between the US and China where the US agreed not to blow China's cover of developing the opening ceremonies in a studio and China would not blow the US cover of preparing Michael Phelps performance in a studio. China was OK with USA getting more medals overall as long as it got more gold than the US.
