Hi all,

I have a question in regards to employment and I thought this would be the most appropriate section to post. Now a brief history about myself before I ask the question... I have been employed with multinationals in the FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) industry for 14 years in Malaysia and another 4 years in Australia. I am currently based in Australia and I am seriously contemplating on a relocation to Shanghai, China. I will be setting aside some time to do research about tax, health care, living standards, schools.... etc in Shanghai within the next few months. I am also thinking of visiting Shanghai to touch base (interview) with some recruitment agencies and some potential employers. I will be writing to these agencies and employers prior to my arrival in order to secure a time slot for the meeting. My planned trip, if it materialise, will be late this year or by Jan 2013.

Question : If you are in my shoes, will you be making the trip ..? Are there any other alternatives to touch base with these recruitment agencies and potential employers?

You're a little late to the party China wise. You'd be better off back in Malaysia or Indonesia which is seeing a rise in property values.
