Hi, Tim,

At the moment, the only confirmed schedule for Christmas masses

SACRED HEART OF JESUS CHURCH (Pudong): http://www.sacredheartpudong.com/

CHRISTMAS EVE, December 24th, Wednesday, Mass at 8:15 pm
CHRISTMAS DAY, December 25th, Thursday, Mass at 10:30 a.m.
NEW YEAR'S DAY, no mass

I will be posting the English mass schedule for ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CHURCH (Puxi) in a day or two. Please check back here or go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ShanghaiI ... ics-SPICES for more information.

As to which place would be most convenient, it all depends on where you are starting from. There are more than 90 Catholic churches in Shanghai and many Protestant churches; all Christian churches will likely be having special masses (in Chinese) on Christmas Eve (December 24th) and/or Christmas Day. I'm sure you would be welcome at all these churches but since Christmas is one of the most important celebrations of the year to Christians, every church service is likely to be very crowded.

I come from a Protestant background, but am interested to see how a Catholic church does Christmas Eve.

Please note there has been a change in VENUE for the Christmas EVE Mass in SPANISH: it will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church (185 Dongjiadu Rd., Puxi), not at St. Peter's Church, on December 24th, at 7:00pm.
