I wasn't allowed to take a tripod in to the Olympics in Beijing so I assumed it would be the same for the Expo but I did see LOTS of people with them so I guess it is allowed.

I bet Iran asked to have DPRK on one side and Lebanon on the other. I can just imagine their representatives exchanging culture, ideas, information, files, etc

Rather late I know, but here are some night photos from the preview.

There was a joint Caribbean pavilion which I had missed, partly closed, then I was following the night lights. Again, it was a pity that the UK pavilion was closed. Some pavilions looked better at night, such as those of Canada, Mexico, Brazil,

Lupu bridge was also lit up in changing patterns. A band was playing in front of the Australia pavilion, attracting a crowd. The Philippines pavilion was another which looked better by night.

The expo axis and theme pavilion were also attractively lit in changing colours, and the culture centre was also lit.

So that was it. I hoofed it back to the subway station between zones B and C, Shibo Avenue. This is on line 13, currently a free special line for the expo, connecting to the Puxi site, then Madang Road. The subway map shows it connecting there to line 9, but this is not quite true: one has to exit the line 13 station, then find the line 9 station across the road with no useful directions. Alternatively there are six subway stops near different exits of the expo site, four water gates and plenty of buses at different exits, all clearly marked on the map. Yes, that’s the map which you get after you arrive.

Just follow my tips above and you'll have a wonderful experience.... :)[/quote]

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this. I am visiting Expo with my 2 young daughters in July this really helps. Any suggestions for where we should stay ?

Are there VIP passes or tours that will get us through the lines ?
Thank anyone who posts to this !

I have 2 kids , age 2.5 and 7 mth old. Is there anyone who can share with me their experience going to expo with young children and what to prepare before an expo trip and what challenges to expect in there.
Thanks.

I went there, the "paradise for people" pavilion, the 4 or 5th of May at 6:00 pm and it was closed and nobody around.

I went back the next day in the afternoon and it was open but no queue at all...
