Fake Beyonce tickets, lesson learned

Postby fortune_nookie » Mon Nov 05, 2007 9:24 pm

I have been here long enough (5 yrs) to know better but I got suckered tonight at the Beyonce concert. Long story short. Got fake tickets that looked very real, guy at door couldn't tell, he scratched them and then finally had to tear off a corner to tell me they were fake. Had the hologram built right in and everything.

I normally pay the person for the tickets AT THE DOOR after verifying the tickets are real but tonight I simply wasn't thinking because I was in a hurry. If the tickets are fake they won't go to the door/gate with you.

Of the many things I don't like here it is getting fake products when you think you are buying the genuine article; when I buy fakes I expect fakes and take what I get.

Anyway, I normally learn from other people's mistakes so this time you can learn from mine. Hve the people you buy tickets from go to the door with you to verify the ticket is real.

I'm sorry to hear that!!! I know someone who's going there tonight. I hope this doesn't happen to my friend. How much did you pay for the tickets? Well, just think of yourself as a one-person charity tonight.

I paid 500 for two 800 rmb tickets, We normally pay less than half for two tickets after the show starts. We bought them a little after 8 so it was not a bad price. Wife is Shanghaiese so she does the bargaining, I play invisible so they don't see my white face.

250 for 400 (or 62.5%), so 1000 for 1600 seems right.

Were you still able to get in?

The guys at the gate look at your ticket (so you got past that right?), and then once you approach the main arena - the guys at the door scan your ticket with a barcode scanner (you didn't get past that?).

EDIT:
After re-reading your reply, I think my calculations are incorrect .... so you paid 250 for a single 800 ticket, which is 31.25% ..... hmmm .... pretty cheap.

I'm not sure why we're discussing whether the price was good value or not when the tickets were fake!!!

31.25% of the face value after the concert starts is common, even for real tickets is my point.
