I´m quite disappointed with our existing house and I have started to look around for a new place to live. Do you have good recommendations of apartments or townhouses that I should be looking for?

Our budget is quite low, less than 3 k$ so that´s always a problem

The compound should have nice club facilities (at least indoor pool, gym).

You don't specify what it is about your current place you don't like so I may make some wrong assumptions here. Your budget can get you a characterful abode west-side French Concession in beautiful surroundings, taxi-hop to Hongchow (sp). CoNpounds, wherever they are (in my opinion!) are not beautiful. Pools and gyms are available to 'outsiders' anyway. PM me with details of what you really want and I'll try to help! (no fee).

My current compound is not offering any facilities. That´s one of the reasons.

I´m looking for a compound, which has nice club facililties and is family friendly (lots of children, play area). The location should not be very far away from SIS Hongqiao (so no Pudong or Nanjing Lu ).

I would like to hear recommendations of nice places to live, because Shanghai has so many possibilites that it´s very difficult to know which place is good and which is not.

I believe what you are looking for is a residence in Hongqiao with nice facilities and a family type spirit. I am very used to handling this type of request. That kind of budget, assuming USD, can get you quite a lot. In our complex, located near the Zhong Shan Park lightrail station, one can get a 4 bedroom 3 bath penthouse uni for half that much witth windowed in full length balconies. Complex has indoor pool, squash court, tennis court and a small gym and a kid room in the club. The club costs a bit extra, but for the rent savings you can do well. Anyhow, good deals are out there...you just have to be careful of the some of agents who are drooling over the commissions that $3000 in rent can derive for them.(This is NOT a commentary on all agents and agencies...just a warning to be cautious)
